Panasonic dvd recorder problem?

I have a model DMR-EZ485V Panasonic DVD recorder. the problem is whenever i'm in the middle of a movie, it stops and the unit says U99. then i turned it of and turned it back on and it took forever to load. Whenever it finally came back on it said F60 and it will not function at all. I need to get the disk out because it isn't mine. the only thing i can do with the unit is unplug it and it just does the same thing all over again. it also won't reset. please help
