Do i need Y Splitters to film with my dazzle recorder?

I wanna film my ps3 gameplay on modern warfare 2 and have my RCA Cabels (Double ended) And my dazzle recorder. Aparently i also need Y Splitters? Are you able to film / set up without the Y Splitters? If so may i have some help :/?
